For Paws Unleashed is owned and operated by Ashley Renton.  Ashley is an animal lover and always had a vision of opening up a business related to animals in some way. Ashley grew up and worked on a cattle farm, went away to college in Columbia, Missouri and graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Mass Communications.  She began her career as a Set Coordinator in the Television and Film industry, while living in Chicago.  She had the opportunity to work with not only thousands of people working as extras but animals as well on TV shows and Films.

Ashley moved back to Kentucky and worked as an event planner then moved on to manage hotels in the Lexington and surrounding area.  She has worked with a variety of hotel brands from Hilton hotels to Choice Hotels International.  Ashley has worked in upper management since she began her career in the hospitality industry and has successfully turned her properties into winning multiple high achievement awards.  The concept of dog boarding and running a hotel are very similar.

After long extensive research over a period of three years, it finally occurred To Ashley that providing a facility much like a hotel in a plush, clean and safe environment for animals was what needed to be established in her community.

Ashley says that there are so many terrible stories that come along with owners who board their pets when they travel or are away for the day.  She wanted to make a place where owners could feel comfortable about leaving their pet in safe and caring environment.  “If I can build a place where I would take my own pets, then there are probably a lot of people out there like myself who have the same concerns and would like to be able to leave their pet and feel great about where their pets are.” 

“Through the experiences and education learned from working in the hotel industry over the years, I plan on running this facility with the same quality and service level and attention to detail as I have run hotels with. It’s just that the guests are more playful and fun to be around.”
